Hey sugars,
Just wanted to share one of my favorite late-night treats. I tend to want something sweet in the evening a few hours after dinner (since I don't usually have dessert) and this is healthy and totally hits the spot.

It's organic cottage cheese, locally grown blueberries, and organic cinnamon. So delicious! The cottage cheese is lowfat so it's only 80 calories in a 1/2 cup serving. I don't eat much dairy, but when I do, I only buy organic to avoid all of the gross hormones, chemicals, and additives of conventional dairy. Also, I know there aren't always quality standards, but generally the cows on organic farms are treated significantly better than those on conventional farms, which is very important to me.

I got the blueberries at my local farmer's market and they're spectacular. If you don't buy your produce from a farmer's market, find one near you! (Try google.) There are tons in almost every state, they're incredibly cheap, and it's great to support local farmers. Plus, what you get is fresh, usually organic (even if not certified, most local growers usually don't use chemicals and pesticides), and didn't have to travel miles across the country (or world!). It's just a safer, healthier, more economical way to get your produce. Plus, it's just plain FUN to go to one. Usually farmer's markets have more than just crates of produce... mine has homemade breads, cheeses, gazpacho, muffins, meats, homemade pickles, apple cider, and fresh-cut flowers. We also even have a little children's entertainment band that performs on certain weeks to keep the kids occupied while the moms shop. It's a wonderful experience!

Lastly, I use organic cinnamon not just because I believe organic is safer and healthier, but it just tastes better! It's easy to believe that all cinnamon from a shaker tastes the same, but that's just not true. "Simply Organic" ground cinnamon is my personal favorite. It's so flavorful and sweet!
